<p>October is <strong>Breast Cancer Awareness</strong> month and today I am excited to share a way YOU can make a difference in the progress of finding a cure. Has <strong>breast cancer</strong> affected your life or someone you love? Today I will share how doing a simple act such as baking a cupcake can make a difference as well as <strong>how breast cancer impacted my life.</strong></p>
<p>A cupcake can help find a cure, you may ask? <a href="https://ooh.li/7b2613c">Let me tell you more.</a></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3802" src="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/cooking-for-a-cure.jpg" alt="cooking-for-a-cure" width="800" height="1200" srcset="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/cooking-for-a-cure.jpg 800w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/cooking-for-a-cure-200x300.jpg 200w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/cooking-for-a-cure-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/cooking-for-a-cure-683x1024.jpg 683w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/cooking-for-a-cure-610x915.jpg 610w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>As a natural born worrier, I can remember worrying about whether I would get breast cancer or not as a young child. Today I still hold some fear for the real risk breast cancer poses. With humbleness and gratitude I can say breast cancer has not affected my body personally, but it did affect a dear friend of mine.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3803" src="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/IMG_0838.jpg" alt="img_0838" width="2048" height="1365" srcset="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/IMG_0838.jpg 2048w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/IMG_0838-300x200.jpg 300w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/IMG_0838-768x512.jpg 768w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/IMG_0838-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/IMG_0838-610x407.jpg 610w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/IMG_0838-1080x720.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" />*Picture by Brittney Kluse*</p>
<p>This beautiful friend, pictured above, is the epitome of love and joy. Amanda is a daughter, sister, mom, wife, friend and business owner. My friend is the type of person who&#8217;s smile lights up a room and her positive energy penetrates you to the core. I admire this woman. This woman is a survivor from breast cancer but much more she is an AMAZING human.</p>
<p>I can remember where I was when I heard she was ill. I was pregnant with my third child resting on the couch. When I heard the news I cried. I have known Amanda since we were kids in high school. As a mother, I couldn&#8217;t imagine finding out I have breast cancer and the fear especially my children might carry. My heart broke and it was then my nightly prayers always included my lovely friend.</p>
<p>Fast forward a few years and she is doing well (not without some trials) and <strong>CANCER FREE!</strong></p>
<p>I asked her a few questions about her experience getting diagnosed with breast cancer and this is what she shared:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Simple Acres</span>: How has having breast cancer changed your life?</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Amanda</span>: Cancer has forever changed my life in so many ways. In a way, it feels like I was given a gift as I now see everyday as a true blessing and I am overwhelmed with joy and love. I treasure every day. Cancer has given me a completely different perspective on life.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Simple Acres</span>: What have you learned on your journey through cancer and now recovery?</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Amanda:</span> I have learned that you never know what tomorrow has to bring. I have also learned to enjoy the present and not sweat the small stuff.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Simple Acres</span>: What is one thing you want us all to know?</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Amanda</span>: You are never to young to get breast cancer and to ALWAYS listen to your intuition. Also, you are stronger than you think you are!</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3804" src="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Depositphotos_31234059_m-2015.jpg" alt="depositphotos_31234059_m-2015" width="1000" height="1000" srcset="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Depositphotos_31234059_m-2015.jpg 1000w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Depositphotos_31234059_m-2015-150x150.jpg 150w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Depositphotos_31234059_m-2015-300x300.jpg 300w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Depositphotos_31234059_m-2015-768x768.jpg 768w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Depositphotos_31234059_m-2015-610x610.jpg 610w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p>What amazing perspective&#8230;huh?! Amanda inspires me to not live in fear of breast cancer, she inspires me to be proactive and she inspires me to be a better person. If you ever met Amanda you would experience one of the kindest, most joy filled and loving person you have ever met.</p>
<p>Some day I hope to carry half of the qualities my sweet friend does.</p>
<p>Will you join me friends in celebrating and supporting our loved ones affected by breast cancer?</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3805" src="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/pink-cupcakes.jpg" alt="pink-cupcakes" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/pink-cupcakes.jpg 800w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/pink-cupcakes-150x150.jpg 150w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/pink-cupcakes-300x300.jpg 300w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/pink-cupcakes-768x768.jpg 768w, https://simpleacresblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/pink-cupcakes-610x610.jpg 610w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
