We have just been getting back into the swing of routines the last few weeks and are preparing for more on our plate next week. The boys are BOTH going to start soccer! With multiple kids in sports and my littlest on the sidelines it can make for chaos! There are two essentials for simplifying the running around sport creates. My sports busy baskets we use are such lifesavers and I’m excited to share!
Our boys are so excited this season for soccer because for the first time they will both be playing sports. I’m thrilled to be watching my little ones enjoy a sport I played and loved in my youth. You can have a long list of things to take to your sports events. The list can include chairs, umbrellas, blankets, water bottles, sun glasses and the list goes on.
I have found even if I don’t have all the plethora of items listed above for our sports weekends but I have TWO MAIN essentials, sports days flow better. When I have go-to snacks and things to keep my children busy (especially the sideline supporters) my sports time with my kids is SO MUCH easier! My kids are happy, entertained and fed which makes life less stressful for this momma!
This is how I put together my sports busy baskets:
Busy basket materials:
- Plastic caddy basket with handle
- 2 snacks, balance carbs with protein
- Let the kids choose 3-5 of their favorite small toys
- Crayons and small pocket notebooks
- A POWERADE
After you gather all your items from Safeway in the beverage aisle, store them in the basket and you are prepared for the fun and busyness sports season offers. I love the caddy style of the baskets because my kids can carry them for themselves! Score!
I am wishing you all a happy sports season this year! To celebrate this I want to also invite you to get involved in a really neat program. “Power Your School ” is an awesome opportunity to share your story how YOU “Power Through” through video or essay submission at a chance to win money for your schools athletic department.
- POWERADE is giving away $2,000 grants to schools across the US to support High School Athletic Programs
- Share your POWER THROUGH™ story for a chance to win $2,000 for your high school’s athletic department. POWERADE® is giving away $1 million to 500 high schools. Enter through 9/30/17 for your chance to win.

Hoping you all a happy simplified season! Dovidenia. Xo
I love the idea of a busy basket for sports in a bin like this. It’s always so hard keeping the younger kids happy and entertained while the other is playing sports. {client}
That is so true and my kids LOVE their POWERADE!
I love this idea. These would be lifesavers for my daughter. She takes her older 3 children to football and cheer practice. While there she also has her 2 year old and my grandson that is 3. Wonderful new ideas are thought of every day!
My youngest is SO busy! Saves me every time!
I think this is such a wonderful idea. Never would have imagined doing a busy basket. Thanks for sharing this! My son isn’t never tried POWERADE. I think it time we give a try 🙂
I love these busy baskets and they would be great for other times as well. My kids also do so much better when I have activities and snacks on hand. Having the Powerade in the baskets is great for those kiddos who are playing the sports!
Great idea! I should have thought about that when my kids were doing sports. So convenient to take along. I will share this idea with my sister. Her son is a member of their school’s junior basketball team.
My kids are all grown ups now. I wish I had this idea when they were young and involved in sports. I took a tote bag with me then, but of course, it did not offer the convenience of having stuff organized.
This is a fantastic idea, I bet these are lifesavers when you really need to keep kids occupied! it is great as you can change out what is in there as they get older!
Absolutely!
I love the baskets. We have a sports household, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🙂
