With a hectic schedule, school and juggling a multitude of responsibilities, Simple Healthy Snacks for Kids is a must in my home! Let me share a few ideas that have been a hit for my family that take mere minutes to prepare!
This Healthy Snack inspiration offers a meal balanced in macro-nutrients, rich in calcium, healthy omega 3 fats and antioxidants!
Turkey & Cheese Pinwheels with Fruit Kabobs
Ingredients:
Tortillas
Arla Dofino’s Havarti & Gouda cheese
Turkey
Spinach
Avocado
Grapes
Directions:
Layer turkey, Arla Dofino’s Havarti sliced cheese, spinach and avocado in a flour tortilla. Roll tortilla up like a burrito, then slice into 1 inch pinwheels.
Use kabob skewers to hold grapes and cubed Arla Dofino’s Gouda cheese.
For Fun:
I used cake decorating tubes to add the funny face details.
My children just absolutely LOVED this simple and quick snack! The key for me was making it look fun with creativity. I have been drawing faces with their food and on their produce lately and seeing such positive results in their willingness to expand their pallets! My oldest son also thought the cheese was DELICIOUS! The Arla Dofino Cheese is a healthy protein source with a more unique flavor spectrum that I was so thrilled to see my children enjoy!
