That’s a hard workin’ man right there! I admiringly followed and fell in love with those sweet cheeks many moons ago.  (Forgive the play on words…ha!) If it wasn’t for that…right there…my journey to simplicity would not have begun! I imagine… I would have grown up and moved to the “big city” and became a workaholic striving for more. Nothing is wrong with “big city” folks or having goals but for me I believe that picture with my old perspective would not have been a good. I used to live a life never content. I believed value and purpose in life was based on my acheivements, what I had and what I was striving to have and sadly… rarely was anything enough.  Yes folks, although I always had country in my heart with roots deep in the mountains of Wyoming….that path of discontent may have happened. I’m pretty positive those cheeks redirected me somehow.  They landed in my path for a reason and here I am blessed with an arm full of children on 10 acres of dirt and enough dreams to last a lifetime. Sometimes it takes that someone whether its a friend, a family member, a lover or even a stranger that crosses your path and leaves an impression. That hard workin’ man right there….continues to teach me to “take it one day at a time”, slow down, focus on what’s important (family first), and enjoy the simple things in life. MAN-if that’s not grounding to this busy-minded-do-to-much-mama!

We started this journey with learning the 10 Ways to a Simpler Life with contentment and love being two on our list. I want to encourage you this valentine month to find contentment in your life in the ones you love! When we focus on what each special person has contributed to our journey….gratitude forms! And graditude is the key that unlocks the fullness of life. (As Melody Beattie quotes) Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Join me this month as we learn how to count our blessings and reflect on gratefulness EVERY DAY with some great DIY projects to come as well as articles and inspiration to encourage us to live in the moment….where I believe simplicity is found. Dovidenia. (Wink)
